Despite social progress and sustained economic growth, Rwanda is still a very poor country, with 56.8% living below the poverty line and rural youth, who make up much of the potential workforce, remaining economically disenfranchised.
WJR's local partner in Rwanda, The Streets Ahead Children’s Centre (SACCA), provides homes and assistance for former and current street-living and working children in Kayonza and Kabarondo, Eastern Province, Rwanda.
