Haiti Earthquake Emergency Appeal
On Saturday a catastrophic earthquake of 7.2 magnitude hit Haiti– more than 1,900 people have been confirmed dead, 10,000 injured, and these numbers will continue to rise.
This earthquake has devastated Haiti – schools and hospitals have been destroyed, roads and bridges collapsed, lives and livelihoods lost in an instant. For the people of Haiti, this is the latest in a long list of disasters that have struck the island one after another. In 2010 we responded to the huge earthquake, in 2016 we responded to the devastating hurricane and now in 2021, we are again responding and helping those most in need.
Having worked in the region for over a decade, we have trusted local partners who are currently responding on the ground, and we will ensure that the funds raised will directly assist those who need it most.
We will be providing food packages; clean, safe drinking water; and temporary shelters for those affected.
In the unlikely event that we raise more funds than is needed for our response, funds will be ring fenced to prepare for future emergencies.
