Location:  Hybrid between our office in NW2 and working from home

Contract: Fixed term contract for 12 months

Our UK Programmes team have recently started a major new programme providing English language and employment support for up to 10,000 Ukrainians. The programme will run to July 2024 and we have recruited around 130 additional staff.

We now have an exciting opportunity for an HR Administrator to join our People and Culture department. We are a small team comprising the HR Advisor and Director of People and Culture, delivering a high quality, efficient HR service and payroll support for 180 staff. The post holder would provide high quality administrative support to ensure the effective delivery of HR services throughout the charity.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing all recruitment administration ensuring applications are dealt with and responded to effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Sending offer letters, obtaining references, and carrying out DBS and right to work checks for selected candidates
  • Supporting onboarding and ensuring new starters are set up on systems and key induction meetings are organised
  • Supporting the HR Advisor with monthly payroll processing by collating all relevant new starter information
  • Supporting with administration for pension scheme and health cash plan for new joiners
  • Supporting the HR Advisor with arranging in-house training courses
  • Preparing letters for staff confirming contract extensions or other changes to terms and conditions

You should have:

  • Previous administrative experience preferably in an HR department
  • A high level of administrative skills including a good knowledge of Microsoft packages and databases
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to use your own initiative
