Kindertransport Commemorative Cycle: Berlin to London 17-22 June 2018
WE ARE FULL! JOIN THE WAITING LIST NOW.
World Jewish Relief is creating an exceptional new cycle challenge to commemorate 80 years since we, as the Central British Fund for German Jewry (CBF), orchestrated the Kindertransport and brought 10,000 children to safety.
This unique six day cycle will emulate the journey taken by the children on the first Kindertransport train, departing Berlin and travelling to London Liverpool St, via Holland and the ferry to Harwich.
We will be setting off from Berlin on Sunday morning 17th June and arriving in London during the afternoon of Friday 22nd.
It promises to be exciting, emotional and exhilarating.
World Jewish Relief is working with Saddle Skedaddle to plan the ride, so we are guaranteed a fabulous riding experience with full support, well planned routes, a fascinating journey as well as top level of food and board along the way. We will be averaging around 100 miles riding a day, mostly flat to undulating.
The ride is full, but a waiting list has opened. There is a chance that more spaces will be come available. If you're interested in joining us for this once-in-a-lifetime challenge and want to be the first in line for a new space, you will need to secure a space on the waiting list by completing these two simple steps:
2. We require £75 (payable below) of the £250 registration fee to hold your space on the waiting list. Should no space become available we will be able to refund this at a later date.
Upon receiving a space, you will be required to pay the balance of the £250 registration fee and a commit to fundraising the minimum of £1700 sponsorship. The balance of the trip cost will be payable to our ride partners Saddle Skedaddle directly.
Please contact Samantha Martin on email@example.com or 020 8736 1250 with any questions.
At the time of writing, exact costings cannot be confirmed, however we are working to an estimate of £1500 per rider. This will include transportation of the bikes to the starting point and all expenses for the duration of the ride. The ride will be fully supported with guides, mechanic and luggage transportation.
The above costs do not include flights and transportation to and from the start and end of the ride which you will be responsible for arranging. Please note, you should ensure you are able to travel from Liverpool Street Station, London with your bike at the end of the ride.
We require full payment of registration fees in order to confirm your place on the Berlin-London Bike Ride. This is non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by World Jewish Relief. We recommend you procure a suitable travel insurance policy to protect against curtailment or cancellation once your registration fee has been paid. For an example please see the policy offered by Saddle Skeddadle.
