Refugee Programme Manager

Closing Date:

Salary:           £42,000 - £44,000 p.a.

Location:     Based remotely anywhere in the UK with travel across the North East region and to World Jewish Relief Office in North London one day a month.

Contract:      Full time (35 hours a week) fixed-term contract to December 2023

World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest and award winning provider of specialist employment support to refugees in the UK. STEP aims to improve integration for refugees through a targeted employment programme that addresses the complex barriers refugees face in preparing for, and ultimately finding, work in the UK.

World Jewish Relief is a delivery partner within the North East RISE programme to provide employment support to refugees who have just received their refugee status. The partners we work with are Open Door North East, Gateshead Council, North East Refugee Service, Middlesborough Council and Newcastle Council.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Refugee Programme Manager to lead the STEP team of Employment Advisors in the North East, working in partnership with multiple stakeholders across the region.

You will lead on the mobilisation, implementation, and on-going programme performance management of STEP in the North East and be responsible for ensuring the KPI's are met for the programme.

You will have experience of line managing a team of people and demonstrable programme management experience, ideally in the charity or public sector. Knowledge of refugee programming is desirable but not essential for this role.

Specific responsibilities and person specification can be found in the Candidate pack.

As this role has contact with vulnerable groups, it is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and references.
